TESTNET is one of the European projects selected to “test the testing system”:
Visit the common website of all ETV related projects (EURODEMO, PROMOTE, AIRTV and TESTNET) funded by the 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission Common ETV website

European coordination action for Demonstration of efficient Soil and Groundwater Remediation
(Goal: to improve the access to results from demonstration projects Europe-wide and to establish harmonised protocols for the documentation of demonstration results and the verification/promotion of demonstrated technology)
http://www.eurodemo.info/

Efficiency Control and Performance Verification of Improved Approaches for Soil-Groundwater Protection and Rehabilitation
(Goal: To set up an efficiency control and performance verification (ETV) system for soil-groundwater protection and rehabilitation based on a more generic testing and performance verification concept, in a network of testing centres).
http://www.promote-etv.org

Testing network for verification of air emissions abatement technologies
(Goal: To provide a technology verification strategy with reliable and independant testing protocols for EsT in the field of air emissions reduction technologies).

The Advisory Board (AB) is common for the other ETV related projects AIRTV, EURODEMO, PROMOTE and TESTNET in order to garantee a maximum integration of the different projects.
The AB should provide their experience in setting up and running verification systems and assess the applicability of the project developments for use in practice.
The tasks of the AB are to:
• review and discuss the progress of the project
• give advise on strategic decisions of the project
• support in developing concepts for international cooperation inside and outside Europe

The common Advisory Board composition is:

The Institute for Prospective Technological Studies is one of the seven institutes making up the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission. It was established in Seville, Spain, in September 1994.

The mission of the Institute is to provide techno-economic analysis support to the European decision-makers, by monitoring and analysing Science & Technology related developments, their cross-sectoral impact, their inter-relationship in the socio-economic context and future policy implications and to present this information in a timely and synthetic fashion.

Inside TESTNET, IPTS is contributing to every facet of the project that is relevant to its expertise and in particular provides two main inputs. The first one addresses the identification of promising technologies, drawing on the extensive database developed in-house, especially through the activities of the EIPPC (European Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control) Bureau. The second concerns the development of verification schemes, focusing on issues related to the optimal organizational system for environmental technology verification in Europe, taking into account operational and financial aspects.

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland is an impartial expert organisation with the objective of developing new technologies and innovative solutions to companies and public sector organisations. VTT’s expertise covers a broad range of technologies, among them water treatment, clean production and monitoring.

As leader of WP1, VTT's main role in TESTNET is providing information on technology and market prospects for relevant stakeholders. VTT also supports the other WPs by with its technical expertise.

EUCETSA, the European Committee of Environmental Technology Suppliers Associations promotes the development and the dissemination of Environmental Technology, specifically for air, water, ground and waste.

As EUCETSA represents over 1100 environmental technology companies in Europe , and has the benefit of intensive direct contacts with the market and relevant stakeholders, it contributes in the evaluation of the verification system developed in TESTNET.

IVL is the Swedish environmental research institute dealing with many environmental issues (from climate to work environment etc.) and with specialisation in eco-efficiency and sustainable solutions for industrial production.

The main role of IVL in TESTNET is as leader of WP3 (validation of verification system) and to perform cleaner production case (Membrane technology for flue gas condensate).

Kiwa NV is a European organisation for testing and certification of products, processes and systems. Kiwa Water Research is a Dutch research institute for water and associated issues.

Kiwa’s role in TESTNET is to lead WP2 (design of the verification system) and to perform a water treatment case (Disinfection of process water by oxidation process measurements).
