They provide the basis for this joint conference of the EU FP6 funded projects PROMOTE, TESTNET, AIRTV and the Nordisk Innovation Center Project NOWATECH.

The conference addressed politicians, regulators, technology providers, industry representatives and associations with the aims to:
·
Introduce ETV as a tool for technology promotion
·
Show the results of pilot verifications
·
Open a gate for participants to present their views to the European Community and decision makers

Presentations soon available.

The ETV International Conference  "Engaging the developing world" was organised in Paris (France), 28 November 2007.
For its third edition and the first time in Europe, this Forum put the emphasis on the needs of developing countries: how can verification systems address these needs and support the global diffusion of environmental technologies ?
Following introduction papers by key speakers, panellists from all regions of the world have discussed needs and expectation for a sustainable development.

The European Forum on Eco-innovation intitled "boosting Eco-Technologies through Verification" was held in Paris (France) on 26 and 27 November 2007.

To prepare and establish a pilot ETV scheme based on the preliminary results of European projects selected in the EC's Environmental Technologies Action Plan (ETAP) and to test its implementation with a network of technical centres throughout the EU. The main aim could be to test and validate 10 to 20 technologies using the developed scheme, in order to evaluate its feasibility in the EU.

Workshop to verify the needs of end-users of a European ETV System

In TESTNET, some alternative procedures are developed to test a technology and to verify the results to end up with a verification statement that should have the confidence of all players: producers/vendors, users/buyers, policymakers/inspectorate, financers/subsidisers, R&D organisations/test laboratories.

To verify preliminary drafts, an end users workshop was held in Stockholm on 8 & 9 may 2006, in order to collect  input and judgement of these players:  What are their needs; what can and certainly cannot work; if not: are improvements possible?

JRC/IPTS is conducting a feasibility study on a European-level Environmental Technologies Verification (ETV) System (results available on summer 2006).

The 2nd International Environmental Technology Verification Forum, "Environmentally Sound Technologies: Harmonizing International Approaches to Performance Verification," will be held March 28, at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver, Canada.

TESTNET Technical Meeting on 6-7-8 March 2006 was held during a joint meeting with EURODEMO and PROMOTE in Frankfurt am Main (DE). This meeting was attended by the members of the Common Advisory Board.

The project starting date for TESTNET was 1-9-2005. The first meeting for the TESTNET project (kick-off) took place in Apeldoorn (TNO) the Netherlands 13-14 September 2005.

The final report of the JRC/IPTS study on the overall concept and structure of an EU ETV system was available in may 2005 (titled “Environmental Technologies Verification Systems”) - see rubric "Publications".

On 22 February 2005 a Workshop titled Environmental technologies Verification Systems was held in Brussels, where the findings from a study by JRC/IPTS (participant in TESTNET) were presented and discussed. Also representatives from ETV-systems in the USA and Canada attended the round table brainstorming and presented their respective ETV-systems.
